Michael J. McHale, MBA

Michael McHale joined SoNE HEALTH as Chief Operating Officer (COO) in July of 2020.  Michael leads SoNE’s Administrative Services, including Network & Business Development, Community Partnerships and Vendor Relationships, Provider Relations, Credentialing, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, and Legal support services.  Michael also provides oversight of the requirements and relationships necessary to achieve compliance with all ACO regulatory requirements and certifications.

Michael has had an extensive career in healthcare administration with expertise in healthcare delivery system development, management and stakeholder relations, and extensive experience in value-based payment arrangements and process improvement initiatives. Before joining SoNE HEALTH, Michael served as the Senior Director, ACO Network Relations and Performance for the Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) in Cambridge, MA. He was responsible for ACO Regulatory Compliance, Network Development, Payor & Vendor Relationships, and various Population Health Management activities to support value-based payment arrangements.

Prior to CHA, Michael was the Regional Manager of Business Operations for Geisinger Health Plan, managing the implementation and operations of a Medicare Advantage Joint Venture with a major health system. Michael also spent many years with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of NJ in various capacities including leading contract negotiations for alternative based payment arrangements with physician and hospital organizations, the development of Episode of Care and Bundled Payment initiatives, and the coordination of process improvement projects across functional areas as a member of the organizational process improvement team.

Michael received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Monmouth University in New Jersey and his Master’s in Business Administration from The University of California, Irvine, California. Michael is a certified Black Belt in Process Improvement Redesign and is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality.
